    What do you think
At a recent dinner party, you met Steph, the controller for Mojave Inc. Steph has work for Mojave for the past seven years. During your conversation, you complained about having to pay your third-quarter estimated taxes on Monday, September 15. In response steph indicated that she always UNDERPAYS her estimated taxes. That way, she can use her money as long as possible. Is it appropriate to deliberately underpay your estimated taxes?

This is a question loosely related to morals.

    I would say yes.

It is only 3rd quarter taxes, under pay. That way, you don't lose out on interest, etc.

It is always better to pay only the min. in taxes.
