    OCD, &skin picking
I'm an 18 year old female. I've always picked at my skin rather severely, buttt recently has gotten really really bad. I scratch the back of my wrists and neck when I get nervous, and pick at my face when I am stressed. It's something I've always ignored, and just dealt with, but it's getting worse. After have these picking sessions my face is red and swollen and bleeding. I now have scars up my arms from scratching. This hole thing seems so silly, I just want to know if this is a serious condition

Molly, if you are bleeding and scarring from a compulsive disorder, then yes, it is a serious condition and you need help. I would suggest contacting your doctor for a referral to a specialist.

This condition is interfering with your life. It's a problem. OCD is sometimes helped by SSRI's. Talk to a physician about it and let her know how serious it has become.
