    Total loans in foreclosure
    I have heard lots of conflicting stats and would like to know the total number of actual foreclosures, broken down by residential, commercial, and also the total number of loans in default i.e. 60 days or more behind... broken down by state.
    Is there such a source of updated monthly information?

    There probably is not a single source for this information. Or if there is I doubt if its accurate. Each lender keeps their own stats with their own breakdowns. Some may share it others not.

    Probably your best source would be the two quasi govt lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
