    #1616 *- $ 7.50 $ 30.00
There are paper money collectors that will
useally pay a higher price then book value ::
I will look up where you can contact them ,
Tomorrow, I just got out of hospital about 2 1/2 hrs ago , I will finish this part now though
You asked what does the star mean on the face side by the serial number :: Back in the early 1800's The star was used on certain bills as a decorateation around the outer edges ; Then they changed and started using the star by the serial number to indicate ( THAT IT IS A REPLACEMENT NOTE
OF a note that was damaged in some way durning printing and when a note is sent back to the treasury damaged -Tore , corners missing ,ECT.ECT.> THE note is also destroyed by burning and a replacement note is made in its place with same serial number and all ; but has the star on it; These are called ( STAR NOTES ) I JUST RECENTLY got a $ 5.00 STAR NOTE IN CHANGE ) Don't give it away or sell it until I get you the inform. Opn how to get in touch with the society collectors of those ::: I hope this other information will be of use to you ::: Good Luck and GOD BLESS ::: F.B.E.

Value of silver certificate [ 2 Answers ]

I have several $1.00 silver certificates and a couple of $2.00 ones. I would like an approximate value of a 1923 oversized certificate with a star in front of the serial number. It is in very good condition.
