    mmorpg's To Avoid?
    Hiya gamer folks!

Here's the problem. :P My husband and I have been playing World of Warcraft for a couple years now. We started in their open beta way back when, and played fully through a good portion of the raiding content when Burning Crusade was released as an expansion. However Wrath of The Lich King didn't exactly meet our expectations. We feel that WoW got "nerfed to hell"(as the hubby put it) that there's no real challenge to it anymore considering we came from a hardcore raiding guild we kind of expect things to be like the next step up Teir 6 bosses and such. After all they're Teir 6 for a reason got to work for it right? So we're in the market for a new game to entertain ourselves with. A few games we have already tried are Guild Wars, Everquest2, Vanguard and Tabula Rasa.

Neither one of us were very impressed with Guild Wars it's a very different type of game as opposed to WoW, Not saying it's a bad game just not the right one for us.

EverQuest2 was fun for a while but with all the expansions to it we felt as if we were running an endless race just to catch up in content, that we'd never reach the latest expansion stuff before the next would pop.

Husband loved Tabula Rasa I however did not.. Don't know how many female gamers are out there but guns and wars and stuff just aren't my personal cup of tea when it comes to MMO's. Hehe Unfortunately for my hubby he's recently read that Tabula Rasa's shutting down, which is unfortunate considering even though I'm not partial to it, it's still a really nice game.

We both agreed we really liked Vanguard but it seems the servers were a tid bit unstable I know the game it's self has come along way since it's release but for us to play 14.95 or however much it is for these subscriptions we expect a bit more from a game than random freezes and crashes. Half the time we weren't ever connected to the social servers :(

Now for the question! :D Considering our little history above. I'm curious if there's a list or perhaps the folks here could compose a list of MMORPG's to avoid.

    Such as:

    - games that are unstable or crash
    - games that are scams for credit card or other personal info
    - virus or trojan laced games and the likes.

A perfect example is just for the hell of it I tried to download and install a cutesy little anime game to pass the time called Fiesta. Upon installation and registering and all that.. the game wouldn't start I'd get to the log in screen and it'd shut down with the error Fiesta has encountered a problem and needs to close. Why I have no clue but I spent at least 5 hours trying to fix it before giving up.

Wow, you have played all the ones I know.

I have heard a game called Atlantica and Lord of the Rings Online are both supposed to be good... I don't play mmorpg games though.

Hehehe yea we get around quite a bit on different games. We did test Atlantica recently since my post (gotta love free trials). Had a really weird set up to it, at least in my opinion. Didn't hold my interest long enough to give it a real go though. Lots of folks have been saying Lord of the Rings Online haven't really looked that one up much, will have to give it a shot. :D

Not entirely.. a few of our close friends have tried it and we kind of watched over their shoulders like. Seemed a lot like WoW, from what we had seen, with the UI set up and what have you. Just wasn't something that jumped out at us as far as catching our particular interest.

I play Lord of the Rings Online. It's the only MMORPG I will play these days, because the others just don't cut it anymore. I'd recommend giving it a try.
