I see that SSN tax is being deducted and I wanted to know is there an option not to pay the SSN tax... For I am not a resident of US,nor a green card holder... I am on work permit visa L1. I guess I don't have any SSN benefits..
Sorry; even though you will NOT qualify for Social Security, the Social Security tax is valid for L-1 workers.
The payment of the tax may be transferred to the equibvalent program in your home country IF your home country and the U.S. have a totalization agreement in place.
ATE, can I request you to find out if any agreement is in place between India and US... on having the SSN transferred,, Have you ever come across on any such stances in the past...
