My son and his girlfriend have this house and a few months back they took in one of his girlfriend's single mother friend. She has 2 little kids and have taken 2 rooms of the house one for her and one for the children. Her share of the rent is $800 plus cable and phone. She has been pretty good for sometime but just recently, has decided to leave the kids with my son and his girlfriend for them to watch and goes out of town for long periods (2-4 days) leaving the kids with them to watch. They haven't mind even though they are getting tired of it. She is never with her kids and when she is home with them, she goes to bed and leaves them running around the house unattended. Now she got a boyfriend and she wants to move him in with them. They told her that absolutely "NO" he is not welcome in their house, especially after they found out that he just got out of jail for robbery among other things. He does not have a job either. The roommate is very upset and making their life miserable. Last week she gave them her share of the rent, which they put in a drawer, and a few days later the money "disappeared". She said she didn't take it and is blaming some else for it. They know this other person and know that he would not steal from them.
To make things worse, she has not paid for the cable and phone for 3 months and it has been disconnected. The bill is over $600 and they can not afford to pay it since now they have to come up with the whole amount to pay the mortgage company.
On Sunday they had an argument and told her that she had 2 weeks to leave the house (she does not have a place to go) and she got upset and called the cops on them.
The cop told them that in Florida it could take up to 3 months to evict someone.
Is there any other way of getting rid of her sooner? They think that if they want, they can bring another person to move in, live in her room and when she comes home, she wouldn't have a place to sleep other than with her kids. This will make it uncomfortable for her and she would leave. Do you think they can do that without getting in trouble?
