    Looking for rights in South Carolina
    I have been married for 15 plus yrs and living in S.c. for 5 yrs oraniglly from Maryland things have really gone south in my marriage .I I'm the only sourse of income my wife won't work to help support our income she is "going to school online" iwant to leave but want to know my rights I am willing to give it all to her and just go on with my life but feel I'm stuck paying all the bills and still not get dinner ,a clean house ,any kindness what so ever we go days sometime without talking but when the bills come in the end up in my bedroom I didn't mention I sleep in my own bedroom she in hers I really need out what are my options

    You may not have grounds for a divorce at all in your state.

    South Carolina Grounds for Divorce
    Grounds for a No-Fault divorce:
    (1) Living separate and apart without cohabitation for 1 year

    Grounds for Fault based divorce:
    (1) adultery
    (2) alcoholism and/or drug addiction
    (3) physical cruelty
    (4) willful desertion for 1 year

    Yes, you may have to move out and separate for that one year first. ** unless you are cheating on your wife.

    But in divorce court, they will divide the property and you may have to pay her maintaince for a period.
