    Headlights went out.
I have a 1987 Delta 88 Royal Oldsmobile. Almost 200,000 on it and a lot of rust...

    Been having problems...
Last year the horn went off wouldn't stop so I pulled the plug on both horns.
I can not find the relay.
Then the battery kept going dead.. Alternator is new and checks out fine.
The battery was old about 5 years on a 6 year battery so I replaced it.

Now today I was putting some tranny fluid in at night had the parking ligh on so the hood light was on. I got in the car turned on the headlights which worked just 10 minutes before when I pulled the car into the driveway and nothing.. No headlights no hood light. The other lights are working like the brake lights and turning signals.
I checked the fuse for the hood light and it was fine replaced it anyway and still no head lights.

This car does have a lot of rust and some leaks into the area of the windshield... and it was snowing a wet snow.

    Any ideas?
Could the switch just go bad on me and if so can I rig another just for the time being?

    Any ideas please??

And how to do it too...

    Thanks!

I have pulled the fuse that is suppose to be for the under hood light and its fine. This light is connected to the parking lights so when you put the parking lights on this light comes on too when the hood is open. This under the hood light was working as well as the parking lights at first. It wasn't until I turned on the headlights that the parking lights went out as well as the headlights. I could not find a 20 amp fuse for the head lights so I am assuming the one marked for under the hood is the same one for the headlights and parking lights.

How easy is it to take the switch out of a 1987 delta 88 Olds?
This car is a car just to get my daughter through college and her part time job. It is on its last leg but with my wife out of work because of a business closing and myself being disabled I can't afford another vehicle.
So if I could put in a toggle switch I would do that, it may look like crap but...
