    Overage father
Okay so here's the question: The father is over 18 and I'm younger than 18 and I might be having a child. I want to know what could happen to the father because of this? Another bit of info. I will be 18 by the time I litterly have the child does that make a difference? I mean just because the baby is being made when I'm younger does it still mean he can get into trouble?

What state are you in and how old are you?
If you are 15 or under yes he can get in trouble whether you have the baby or not. If you are 16 then a lot depends on what state you live in. Like in my state a 16 yr old can be with a guy that is 20.

General rule is that if you are having sex with a person over 18 and you are under18 then yes he can go to jail for a very long time.

The 18 and over laws have been changed over the past few years so you really can't go by that any more
It is a good rule of thumb for a guy that doesn't want to get in trouble to follow when he wants to hook up with a girl and isn't sure about the law or the girls real age though.
Here is a list of age of consent by states
Some may have been revised or lowered
Some put a limit at the older partner being within 4 years age difference which means a 16 yr old can be with a 20 yr old

But if you are under 18 and live in one of the states where the age is consent is 18. Basically the boy can be charged with rape and sent to prison for years. Not likely unless someone is going to press charges, since in general most people care less.
