We are travelling to a destiniation wedding and spending a around 2000.00 to get there. What is an appropriate gift to give from a monetary standpoint given the expensives being incurred to get there?

Obviously you know the couple very well, or you would not be forking out that much money. I would suggest a personal gift. You must know their like and dislikes, hobbies, activities, and so on. Other than spending a lot of money, I would focus more on the personal aspect of it. Perhaps a picture of them framed? Something special that includes their wedding invitation, like a plaque with personal things included under a lacquered surface? Just something that would be personal to them I think would be the best way to go.
