    1997 dodge ram will not start
    my 1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4 truck will not start the engine will crank but will not run. The ASD relay in fuse box in the engine compartment is clicking while the key is in the run position. The factory in dash tach does not work like it should when cranking the engine the fuel pump runs constantly when the key is in run position.Has any one had this problem before?

    . Ensure battery is fully charged, by removing it and placing it on a charger.
    . Clean battery terminals and cable connections.
    . Test all under-hood and under-dash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

    . Under-hood relays will sometimes "chatter," when batteries are weak. If the problem persists, disconnect the negative battery cable (record any radio codes first) and clean the contacts to the chattering relay--swap it out if the problem continues.
