Leaking Shower when tub is on
Hello, all. I'm new here but I'm trying to fix my bathtub. Every time I turn on the bath water, the shower head leaks and drips. However, the bath water does not leak whenever the shower is on. I've replaced both the tub spout and the shower head and it still leaks. I have no idea what to do. Anyone have any suggestions?

My bet's on excessive house pressure. Purchase a hose bib pressure gage,(see image). Check your house pressure,(tha average is 45 PSI but anything up to 60 will be acceptable.) If it's over that and you have a PRV( Pressure reducing valve) installed then you must reduce reduce the pressure entering your house. If not click on back and tell me what the gage reads. Good luck and thank you for rating my answer. Tom

I recently installed a new Moen model 82402. When I turn the water on it comes out of both the spout and the shower head. I contacted Moen in regards to this and they thought it might have been the gate so they sent a new spout. This did not fix the problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

Shower pan leaking ? [ 3 Answers ]

This may sound like a dumb question, but I am a first-time home owner and I'm not sure who to call about a leak in my shower. I'm pretty sure it is the shower pan that is leaking. Do I call a plumber first? Or a contracter? I'm confused. Please help. Thanks.
