Start and Atly I am doing fine and I hope you guys are also.. thank you for asking...

Spent most of the day starting to get ready for the Christmas decorating. I spent 2 hours shopping for "special" lights and "things." And 3 1/2 hours testing all my lights and getting organized in the garage and another hour with sis in law and Marta bring things up from the basement. Man, we have a ton of "stuff!"

GREAT, isn't it? I need to test a few more things tomorrow before and after the Bears game and start to get everything laid out and ready. It will probably take me about two weeks straight to decorate the way I want to.

This year, I am going to lay down a series of lights on the ground so the whole yard is covered with white lights and put all the other displays on top of these. Should look terrific when finished and the snow covers the ground and the lights are below them...

Then I will have to do the exterior of the house, I know Start, Marta will hold the ladder. That's right (memo to Stringer... ) buy a new ladder. Marta said this ladder is 6 years old and shaky aluminum AND it is the culprit that slipped on me... she wants a new one. She said "period," if I buy anything... it is going to be a new stronger ladder... soooooo, gota do that.

Ladder, yup, buy a new ladder, good idea. :)

Our lights are already up, they're multi colored led lights, really cute. :) I want to decorate one of the trees out front this year, but all I have is a hug lilac tree and an iddy biddy evergreen. Really iddy biddy, wouldn't even hold 1/2 a strand of lights.

I like the idea of lights on the lawn, can't do that here, the kids play on the lawn. I wouldn't mind getting one of those blow up lawn thingy's, I really like them. Maybe I'll go shopping this week.

I want to see pictures when you're done Stringer. Lots of pictures. :)

Wow, Alty you got the decorations up early huh? All my neighbors have the blow-ups so even though I like them I probably won't.

Yep, I'll take some pictures, you too... post some pictures...

We're tying Stringer down? Did I read that right? ;)

Spydie, I hope you and baby are feeling better. No puppy for Christmas, it's too hectic a time to get a puppy. Wait until spring, that's better. Do you really want to be housebreaking a puppy in the dead of winter?

Wait until spring, trust me, or get a puppy now, so he can settle in before the holidays. :)

We'll find another place once this one is full. I'm negotiating the possibility of getting us an Island with all the trimmings. And, the neighbors are pretty nice too - they don't eat much and dance at every occasion. I will soon post some pictures for you to check out before the final deal goes through...

Spydy.. Alty's idea is valid, wait to get that puppy in the spring-time unless you can teach him how to use a litter-box.

I love the snow for about the first month shortly after Christmas I have had enough but there is usually 10 more weeks or so of it here in Chicago and that is when I get very tired of it and I am ready for spring. But up to Christmas it just "lights" me up..

Yep, take pictures... for sure and I will send them to you to post for me... K?:):)

I would actually hate it if it didn't snow at all. Snow is a C'mas requirement! I don't mind if it sticks around for a little while, but when it starts piling up along the sides of the streets, and the snow removal trucks and sanding trucks come out, and shove it all over the place and it's all dirty frozen snow, then it needs to go away! ;)

Hi All! Christmas lights? Oh, that's right, where did the year go? We are almost there!! Stringer, be careful. I asked my hubby what kind of ladders he has and he said he has 300# ladders that are fiberglass. He said to write that after years in the building and trades industry, his advice is "always climb on the best" but I told him I better reword that just for Alty! Alty, you would have a day with that one!! Right?: So, he glumly said, "Climb on the best ladder you can find. One injury can last a life time." Well you can tell that little guy is tired from our three day trip!! He doesn't quite get this virtual world anyway but his advice is good!!

Uhhmmm... come to Canada in January my dear! I think you would be changing your mind in a BIG hurry! Trust me you would. I'll make you shovel my walks with 50lbs of snow per scoop, and we'll see how much you like it then! ;)... oh did I mention it will be -50 with wind chill?

Hi Rebby! I won't climb a ladder, and I don't care if it's the best in town! LOL!
