    Penalties for shoplifting
    I was arrested for shoplifting less than 100 dollars.I stole a shirt and a hat , a sandwich at walmart.now I have a date to go to court.I am really woorry about my punishment.I LIVE IN ATLANTA. WOULD I GO IN PRISON? DO YOU KNOW WHAT KIND OF PUNISHMENT I CAN HAVE.iT WAS MY FIRST TIME FOR SHOPLIFTING.ANSWER ME QUICK PLEASE

    Is this going to be in city court or is it going to be in state court.

    They sometimes do a day or two in jail as a shock program, but normally you are going to get several hundred dollars in files, plus court costs plus about a year probation.
