    Retirement benefits
    Anyone ever have any experience with obtaining retirement benefits from a school district I'm finding out the hard way my husband was allowed to assign his benefits to someone other than his wife

    Are you talking pension benefits? This is not specific to school pensions. Pension benefits do not have to flow to the spouse. Depends on how the plan was written.

    Not too long ago someone posted - this was husband's second marriage and he never changed his benefits from his children to his second wife.
