Wet walls due to humidty - speed up drying.
    Hello experts,

Following an incident with a leaking pipe, I have a wet wall (dark yellow, greeish color) in my apartment. Before painting again the wall, we should wait until it is dry, which could take months as the atmosphere is not very hot in the room.

I would like to know if there is a way to improve or speed up the drying process so we can plaster and paint faster. I wonder if there are products (a special paint) that are water repellent and that can be applied to improve the outside aspect of the wall.

Another solution would be to remove the plaster and let the wall dry, would that be a better option to get it dry faster.

    What is your advice?

    Thanks,

    Barbara

You will have to run a de-humidifier to get rid of the dampness.

A dehumidifier will definitely speed up the process.

If the wall area is very damp you may want to remove the wet, moldy wallboard
Clean and dry out with fans. Replace drywall and finish:)
