    NO operating system found
    My girlfriends daughter likes myspace and has absolutely no consideration for her computer and downloading.

    She downloaded something that wiped out her operating system. I put the system recovery disk in the drive and it doesn't even pull that up. It was windows 98. Should I just give up on the computer, it's like 8 years old, or should I give a crap. And if I do try to fix it, what do you suggest

    With windows 98 you need to boot the computer with a startup floppy diskette along with the recovery CD you have there


    Here is a link for a startup disk, This is my upload and nothing to be worried about

    RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

    -Download file above by clicking on link and the click download as Free User and then after about 30 sec. click the download link that comes up.

    -Once opened, extract the files to a floppy disk

    -Now with the diskette in the floppy drive and the recovery disk in the CD drive, start the computer

    You should come to a DOS prompt [Assuming your CD drive is D:]

    -At DOS prompt, type d: and hit enter
    -Now type setup.exe

    This should get the installation going
