    Child support
My husband and I had got custody of his now 9 year old daughter a while back. We are worried once she turns 12 or 13 that she will want to go live with her mother. If or when she does we want to know what the maximum we would have to pay? Her mother makes 10 dollars an hour and my husband makes several hundred thousand a year since he has gained custody. Would we be obligated to pay several thousand dollars a month for one child or is their a limit on what it takes to raise a child in Kansas?

I believe you could look up many online child support calculators that might help give you and idea. Most just ask what your husbands gross annual income is, how many children he would be providing for, who would be paying for the health insurance, and how much the insurance is.

I am by no means an expert, but merely the wife of a guy going through a semi similar situation. Good luck!

No there isn't a cap on how much it takes to raise a kid. It is a percentage of his pay (in most states about 17% for one kid). You can look up the Kansas child support calculator and put in all the values that it asks for and you will get a good idea. I wouldn't really worry too much about that right now though because he still has custody of her.
