Pills can be more effective at preventing pregnancy than condoms, but some women should not use them... for example, someone with a blood clotting condition. The pill alters hormones to help prevent pregnancy, but this shift in hormones is not good for all women. If a woman was going to use the pill, it would be best to start it before the wedding day so that it would have time to be in her system.

Condoms can be fairly effective when used correctly. They need to be put on before the penis ever goes into the vagina and care with removal is important so that no semen spills into the vagina. Some couples will choose to use a spermicide along with a condom for added protection.

A woman's doctor would have to prescribe the pill and can go over the different sorts with their pros and cons. There are other forms of birth control as well, so these can be discussed also to help find which one would be best for an individual couple.

The pill is more effective for birth control. But your doctor can advise you as to weather it is a good choice for you. Doctors do recommend that you begin taking the pill at least one month prior to having unprotected sex. The best thing to do is make an appointment at your gynocologist as soon as possible and make an informed decision.

There are various forms of birth control. The pill and condom are merely two. You need to discuss wth your doctor what works best or right for you.

No one method is 100 percent effective and as in the pill you have to take it for a month before you rely on it.
