    The best side effect is that there is no pain. This is a medication used for gout among a few other illnesses and is highly effective if taken daily.

    You need to increase your fluid intake to at least 2 liters a day to avoid kidney stone formation. Avoid alcohol and caffeine as they increase uric acid levels. Watch for rash, stomatitis (ulcers in the mouth).
