Recently I have been getting only lukewarm water in the tub. The hot water in the sink is still working. I don't have a clue where to start to fix it or what is wrong with it. The building manager says that I may need to change a cartridge? Can someone please help me?

Need to know the make and model of faucet. Is it a single handle or two handle faucet?

You say building manager. This makes me think that it is not your responsibility to fix the problem. Do you rent? Lets have some more info, and we will try our best to help.

Wow, you are fast! I don't know that make or model because there is no logo on it. It is a single handle faucet. It was working fine a few months ago but since September all I get is lukewarm water. I live in a condo and the building superintendent said that it is our responsibility to fix the faucet fixtures. There is one screw on the right and left side of the metal "plate" on the tiled wall. I assume that it is a problem with the tub faucet because the hot water is working everywhere else.

Can you take a picture of the faucet and post it here? I can't say where to start without knowing what I'm working with.

Awesome. Now, there should be a allen screw on the bottom side of the handle. Take that out, and remove handle. Lets see a pic of what is under the handle. You will not have to shut the water off for this, but do not disassemble any further without shutting main water off. Just start by removing handle, and we will go from there.


The two screws on each side of the cover plate are just to hold the cover plate on. The reason your cover plate is so wide is because at one time there was a two handle faucet there. Home owner decided to install a single hande faucet and didn't want to redo tile. This also expains why your faucet is mounted so low.

Do you know what size allen screwdriver I should use? When I look under there, it seems like it's just a hole.

It looks like Moen old single handle Faucet but the cartridges are almost the same, see the link below and it will give you and idea how to change the cartridge, before you do any thing make sure to shut off the water to the faucet is Mygirldad says, good luck.

This is what it looks like inside when I took the handle and panel off. Now what?

I don't think it's a moen because it doesn't match the diagram. I took it apart some more and found this part. What is this part and where can we get another one? In one of the top holes, there is a piece of rubber that is blocking water flow. Thank you.

I agree with you it looks like Delata Rotatry bath faucet see the image below it is the same but it has a knob instead of handle, you are doing Ok, Shut off the water to the faucet remove the catridge and take it to a plumbing supply get the seals or the cartridge assembly, before instllaing the cartridge turn on the water to flush the faucet, good luck.

Wish you had a moen, much more simple to replace moen cartridge. It looks to me like you may have an american standard faucet.( or any ripoff of american standard). Im betting that it is not a popular name brand. Your best bet is to take the cartridge(which will be all parts inside the valve body, to all hardware stores in your city, and see if they can match it.
