I am looking for a young man (well, I guess he would be in his 50s now) who was my mother high school pen pal. He was from France and severed in the French Navy in 1972/73. His name is Jean Fraig or Fraij. I think he was stationed at Marine Hourtin C.F.M. and may have grow up in Toulouse or Bordeaux (or had realitives there). My mother's name was Donna Roberts and she lived in Novinger Missouri, USA. I have an old scrap book with post cards, drawings and pictures he sent her... unfortunately no addresses. My mother has made many comments over the years about how much she would like to find him. I was able to sneak her scrap book out of her house and have restored it. I would love to give back to her for Christmas along with Jean's contact information. I think it would be an amazing gift! I would greatly appreciate any help locating Jean Fraig/Fraij. I think that sounds like a wonderful gift! I did something similar as a Christmas gift for my parents many years ago, and that was to round up all of the loose photographs that they had piled in boxes and then organized them and put them in albums.

Would it be possible for you to contact the French Navy? Since your mom has made many comments over the years about him, perhaps you could inquire about more information concerning him to her without leading on that you have some sort of surprise in store for her? Maybe there might be some military blogs or even chat rooms where you could inquire about him?
