Removing Clutch Cable - Craftsman LT 1000
I have a Craftsman Lawn Tractor LT 1000 which I'm attempting to replace the clutch cable. The end of the cable near the clutch level has a plastic piece which slides into a metal bracket. I can not figure out how to get the old one out of the bracket so that I can replace it with the new one. I'm sure there is a method which I'm just not familiar with. Can you help me?

I think you might be talking about the deck engaging lever in the dash. Is that right?

The part listing said clutch cable... but you are right I believe it is referred to as deck. It is the large handled lever which engages the mower blades.
