    Brand new clothes dryer squeals.
I have a brand new Splendide stackable washer and dryer in my RV. The dryer squeals horribly. The noise drives the dogs and me nuts. I returned it to my RV dealer and he has been talking to Spendide and they have decided to replace the motor. I manually turned the drum with the dryer off and heard the squeal so could it be the motor if it makes the noise even if the dryer is off and the motor is not running?

My answer to your question is a yes and a no.

The squealing noise that is coming from your dryer could be from the motor bearings but if it is a brand new unit, I would doubt if it is the motor. It would be more likely to the rollers that holds the drum or the main bearing that holds the drum. You can further test the unit by removing the belt. With out the belt, you can isolate where the noise is coming from. Either from the bearing of the drum or the motor.

    Tnx

Clothes dryer that squeals [ 1 Answers ]

My Whirlpool dryer still works fine. But, it began sometimes squealing while it ran. I could open & close the door & it would stop. But, as I have done a few more loads it has gotten worse & now does it constantly. Everything still seems to be working just fine. Any ideas? Or, is it time to call...
