Miscarriage 12 days ago and still feel pregnant
Hi everyone,
I am new to 'Ask' and hope someone can help. I recently discovered I was pregnant on 10-28, but had a miscarriage on 10-31. I am sure that it was a miscarriage because it was 2 days of brown bleeding and period cramps (also back pain) followed by some bright red blood and the passing of what I believe to be a very early fetus. Immediately following the miscarriage all pregnancy symptoms disappeared. I was still worried and driving myself crazy though, and about 2 days later pregnancy symptoms resumed (breast tenderness, indigestion etc). It has now been 12 days and I still feel pregnant, I'm not sure if this is realistic or if I am doing this to myself because it just doesn't feel real. I am waiting for my health insurance to kick in and havent' seen a doctor yet (I will though). Oh, also I took at HPT 2 days after the MC and it came up positive. I am literally driving myself nuts. I'm hoping that someone can give me some suggestions/advice.
Thanks!

So two days after the miscarriage was 11-2, have you taken another since... today is 11-11, an additional nine days. How much longer do you have to wait for health insurance? If you were bleeding and pregnant you would need to see a doctor asap. How did you discover you were pregnant on the 28th? How far along would you have been? I don't think you would have noticed a fetus at that point. It sounds like you really need to see a OB/GYN.

Hi,
Thanks for responding. I took an ept test on 11-28 and 11-2 and my health insurance kicks in this Friday. The tissue I passed didn't look like a baby, but I knew that it was not normal and without going into great detail all I can say is that I'm sure of what it was. Again,I hadn't seen a doctor, but I'm assuming I was about 3-4 weeks.

I would call and set an appointment with a doctor for Friday or next Monday. They will be the best at putting your mind to rest. At 3-4 weeks the size of a fetus is 3-6mm.

You may be able to go to your local health department and get an exam for free.
Also... you could apply for medicare and get an appointment right away too but at this point I would call and get an appointment set up for Friday... tell them what is going on and they may be able to squeeze you in based on an emergency status.

This blog seems to be a week old so not sure if my advice will help but here goes..
When I got pregnant I didn't have any kind of insurance.. Well then I had a miscarriage and I had to go to the ER, and then I applied for medicare and I received an emergency medicare and they covered all the doctor visits I had and the er bill. I wish I knew this blog was here sooner, so that way you didn't have to wait for your insurance.
Also after my miscarriage.. It took me 2 to 3 weeks to get my hc level's down. I had to do a blood drawn for those weeks till then went down. So even if you "believe" that it was a miscarriage.. It will take a few weeks for you to feel like your not pregnant.
So please see a doctor and let us know how it goes! Good luck!

You need to see a doctor, it may not be serious but its best to find out... if you've miscarried and not all of the products have come out you risk getting an infection.
Also post miscarriage you may still feel preganant as the hormones will need time to come back to normal, in my case it took quite long, I still had sickness and bloating up until 5 weeks after. However like I said it may not be serious... could it be implantation bleeding? Better to get checked out! BEST WISHES X
