    Negative tests, many symptoms including weight gain, is it possible?
    I got married at the end of June. My husband and I are trying to have a child so I stopped taking my birth control pills. Since then I have had no period although my doctor says it can sometimes take five or six months for a women's cycle to straighten itself out after being on the pill, I feel I may be pregnant. I have taken several home tests that have came back negative. At a hospital vist I did a blood test which came back negative. I feel pregnant. I have had many of the classic symptoms as well as quick weight gain inplaces I would associate with being pregnant. Is it possible that I am pregnant to the point of gaining weight despite the numerous negative resluts?

    Different women report different "side-effects" after discontinuing use of their birth control pills which could include weight gain, weight loss, edginess, headaches, etc. This is due to hormones getting back into their groove. Do you know what type of blood test your doctor preformed? There are two types: quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative ones detect the exact amount of hcg in your blood and are "more accurate" per say and qualitative ones test for the presence of hcg only. IF you are then a qualitative blood test or HPT may not have picked up your hcg levels if they are low. In this case, however, my opinion is that you are not pregnant.     Hi I am going through something similar as well. I haven't been on birth control for about 2 years though. My husband and I have been using the "pull out method" My husband works out of town but he was here for about a month he left on November 21. My last period was about October and I have not gotten my period again. I had tender breasts about 2 weeks ago but it went away after about 1 week. Now I am having cramps very mild one but I don't know if I am getting my period I just can't tell. Well good luck and let me know if you found anything out?

    wonderme24 - Have you taken any home pregnancy tests?

    newlywed131 - Have you tested since med November? You still haven't menstruated since going off the pill? Is your doctor aware of that?
