    Looking for my son
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can find my son that I put up for adoption. I don't know his name, but he was born in Lubbock, Texas at the South Side Hospital on November 30, 1981. He was put up for adoption at Smith Lawn Adoption Agency in Lubbock, Texas. He will be 27 years old this November, He is the only child that I ever had and I think about him every day. Can anyone help me out.

Go to Troy the Locator and give him your story and you may be able to find him for free.

Contact the adoption agency and ask to leave a letter in his file. See if he's left a similar letter.

Contact the courthouse in the county he was born and ask to leave a letter for him in his file, and see if he has left a letter for you.

Go to sites like ISSR, adoption.com and adoption.org and sign up on the reunion pages. Do a search to see if he has already signed up--he may already be looking for you.

If none of that works, you may have to hire a private investigator to help you locate him.

HOWEVER---remember that not all reunions go well. He may not want to talk to you, or get to know you, or any of that. He may believe that he has two perfectly good parents an want nothing to do with you.

I suggest that you see a counselor and be SURE you are ready for the possible rejection that may come. I'm not saying ALL searches end like this, but some do, and you need to be aware of that before you even start searching.
