    Really concerned for my niece
    I just found out that my 2 year old niece has genital warts. How is that possible? Is social services going to take my niece or get involved in any way?please someone help!

    Oh my goodness!! The only possible way is if her genitals have come in contact with someone who has this disease. She has quite likely been sexually abused. Yes, she will most likely be taken pending an investigation. Such a sad situation :( I'm so sorry! :(

    I think that this could have been passed from mother to child during birth. I would almost hope that this is the case and that she wasn't abused. Has anyone contacted social services? If they do try to remove her it will be because they feel the parents are to blame for her being sexually abused... not just if her mother had it and passed it on. In which case I am assuming you would want her removed from that situation. However they will sometimes work with the families and place the child in the care of other relatives such as yourself or grandparents. Try to arrange this with them so that the transition isn't as traumatic for her if they do remover her from the home. Sorry to hear about this... how awful for that little girl. I am glad you are being proactive in this though... Don't give up you might be her only hope!
