Is my Furnace affected by the recall in California
    Hello,

I just to a new house with an older horizontal furnace installed in the attic. As part of the disclosures give to me was news about a furnace recall advisory. Apparently some furnaces can cause fires. They were sold under many labels but were all manufactured by Consolidate Industries. The units involved are gas-fired horizontal furnaces equipped with steel NOx rods installed above the burners and are commonly called NOx rod furnaces.

Can any help determine if my furnace is at risk?

    Here are the specs:

    Make: Consolidated Industries
    Model: MBA 080 NH4RX

hvac1000, thanks for the quick response. I called number you gave me and they were not able to locate the MBA model number (see above) in their database under Consolidated Industries. They said the best thing to do is have someone who is familiar with these type of furnaces to come inspect it.

Since this company is out of business, do you have any recommendation where can I find an experienced inspector and how much should I budget for this task?

    Thanks a lot!

Usually a HVAC company in your area can help you. I have no idea on cost.
