    Order of protection against hubby
    Long story short. He didn't want to move in with me in my new triplez apt. He couldn't be on the lease cause he had judgements. He hasn't worked since June 2008. He got angry and he and his friend stole my laptop and pocketbook. Creditcards out my wallet and title to the car. He resisted arrest and is doing 30 days for destroying police property. I got an o.o.p. I ordered new c.cards and deactivated the car key and ordered a new one. I am the primary on the car. Am I allowed to do this? The registration is in both our names. I am following up with domestic violence appts. I make payments on the carnote. Geico said I have to show proof of divorce before I remove him. Refinancing was denied and trading the car would be upside down. Am I OK with ordering a new key and changing the license plate? Taking steps toward divorce. Thank u. From Brooklyn, NY.

    You can get a new key, and then next week, he can order and get a new one for him. If he is on the title, he is as much owner as you until you divorce or refi.
