    Jacuzzii tub emitting foul odor
Hi... I have this terrible odor in our main bathroom. The shower is used daily and is in the bathtub so I know that it is not the trap. It is a jacuzzi tub that is rarely used. It is a bad sweet smell like wet towels have been sitting in a pile for awhile. I have filled the tub and added bleach and then run the jacuzzi and there is minimal reflief. If it is the pipe and drain in the jacuzzi can you tell me what to use to clean it and how often I should clean it... I do not want to wait until the smell is back... also I have read that bleach and vinegar really don't do the trick. Thanks, suzanne

    Hey Suzy,
Sounds like you've been invaded by bacteria that live in the slime on your pipe walls.
While bleach will kill the bacteria that live on top of the slime for a while it won't kill the bacteria in the slime. Running boiling water through the system will melt the slime and flush it away. Good luck, Tom
