    Name of film
    I saw a film ar least 10 years ago. Set in the american west in a town with harsh snowy conitions. A dark haired, bearded man runs the town and is in love with a town prostitute. He has the town church moved to a new site before he marries her. A young man is sent to the town, he is an engineer or similar and lives in the saloon with all the prostitutes. He is well known but I cannot remember who he is. He I think is in love with the same woman.
    Does anyone know the name of this film please.

    I suspect this could be McCabe and Mrs. Miller (1971) - a great film.

    No I am sorry it was'nt Mccabe and Mrs Miller. This film is only about 10-12 years old and is very gritty in the style of days of heaven, heavens gate, etc
