    Am I Crazy??
I am 18 years old and I have a son that is 14 months old... im not sure when this started but I think it happened when I was pregnant. There are times when I know that I am crazy but I don't know what to do about it. I think I am crazy because I always think ghost are after me. Not really like after me but when something bad happens the first thing to pop in my head is "its the ghost that are doing this to me". When I get up at night I like just feel this dark presence in front of me or around me. I constantly have to have someone sleep over so I can feel safe with my son... I don't tell them that though. I don't know if I am right or if it is just my head playing games with me or if this is normal or even if I have another option. Please help me.

First of all, crazy people don't know they are crazy so that demonstrates that you aren't.. ta daaaah! But that won't stop you from "feeling" crazy. I sometimes feel crazy too. And that's okay.

As for the other stuff, I would say you have some anxiety... maybe about being a new mother, maybe about not feeling well like you posted in the other thread, maybe about stuff beyond what we see here. And what you appear to be doing is a remarkably good job at what is called "projecting"... where you create something to attach those feelings to, like a "dark presence".

If you want more peace sit quietly and reflect on your life. If you think it warrants it, write down all that is bothering you like a laundry list... numbering each one. Then after you have it all down, look over the list and cross out the ones you simply cannot do a single thing to fix. Let your mind feel the relief of not having to worry about them anymore. For the remainder, next to each one, write your very next step to solve it, even if that means posting another new question here. If you feel stuck but brave, show us or someone you trust the list.

    I hope that helps.

    Hello crybaby,

There may be a simple way of treating your feelings of anxiety in the dark.

Irrational fears are usually due to a metabolic disorder that luckily can be treated without recourse to drugs.

The feelings of fears are caused by excess internal adrenaline production due to hypoglycemia. Val is quite right when she suggested that when we have an irrational fear we will project this on to the world, and externalize it, and imagine things that fits our feelings.

What happens is that for the body to feel relaxed and happy, it needs the feel-good neurotransmitters such a serotonin. This is obtained from ingredients in our diet. For the body to manufacture these feel good hormones, it needs lots of Biological Energy called (ATP). This is energy is essential for the body to manufacture the feel-good neurotransmitters.

People who have hypoglycemia, due to Insulin Resistance cannot produce sufficient energy for serotonin production.

When the brain is starved of energy it will trigger the release of adrenaline, which is responsible for anxiety and unnecessary worries.

Without having to understand the biochemical mechanisms involved you will find that going on a Hypoglycemic Diet, will solve your problems.

So you see there is nothing "wrong" with your mind, it is your body that is not well.

Crybaby, remember that your body is extremely hormonal right now. A diet may help somewhat, but your hormones will take time to return to normal.

Your hormones went into overdrive when you became pregnant, then again when you gave birth. If you are breast feeding then your hormones are still going crazy.

It takes a woman's body close to 2 years to return to pre-pregnancy state.

All of these hormones coupled with the fact that you are a new mom, and if I read your post correctly, a single mom too.

Just remember that things will get back to normal soon. ;)
