    Theft/fraud under 5000
I recently foolishly stole money off my dads bank cards and now the police are getting involved and I know I will for sure be caught because my face is all over bank cameras. The sum of money taken totals about 1200 dollars. I'm 19 and this is would be my first offence and I am not known to police. I'm wondering what length of time I would be likely be charged with or what kind of sentence I would be dealt just a rough idea would be great to know.

    Hello ja:

Every first timer wants to know how much time he's going to get... But, it ain't that easy. If it was, we could get rid of judges, and publish a book.

Even though you are guilty, and even though you want to face the music, I recommend you hire a good criminal attorney. I also recommend that you NOT talk to the cops.

Look. These tactics are not designed to avoid responsibility. They're designed to reduce the damage.
