    Ceiling fan noise
We have a ceiling fan that came with the house (purchased 17 years ago). Occasionally, when the fan in turned off (it runs continually), when it first restarts, there is an inconsistent buzz/rattle from the fan. Since this weekend (2 days and counting) it is a fairly consistent noise. Are there any parts that require oiling, etc? I will state that the fan is mounted in a cathedral ceiling, and it is difficult to access (the light has been burnt out for at least 10 years, and we haven't bothered to replace it :) ). Thanks for your time - Heidi P.S. don't know brand of fan - sorry.
