    Piercing saddle
    After installing a saddle valve in the copper line and piercing the pipe by screwilng the needle in, in order for the water should the needle be screwed in or backed out?

    After you install the saddle valve you need to screw in (clock wise) the needle all the way in to pierce the pipe then you need to back it out (counter clock wise) this is like an angle valve clock wise will shut off the water and counter clock wise will turn on the water, open the attacch link for further info, good luck.
