    Defrosting frozen prawns
Do you really have to defrost frozen prawns before adding them to dishes such as stir fries or curries? I was always taught that this would invite certain food poisoning but have seen friends cook with unthawed seafood with no apparent ill-effects.

I have always just rinsed mine with warm water, and added them directly into the dish I'm cooking. Cook them through, and they will be just fine. :)

Place them in cool water below 40 degrees in your refrigerator and make sure your refrigerator is below 40 degrees and your good. If your in a rush put them in cool water in your sink and thaw them that way but make sure to cook them immediately after and make sure the temperature of the prawns gets up high enough to kill all the bacteria.
