    Wiring in two thermostadts
I have an apartment in my house and I would like my tenants to have limited controls in setting the temp. Is there a way of wiring in a second thermostadt (by the boiler in the basement) so that they cannot turn it up pass a temp on the other one, say 75? Or is there an easier fix to this delemia?

There are some stats where you can set limits. The Honeywell Vision Pro line has that available, but all you have to do is find the install manual online and reset them. Agreed, it's not easy.

The more commercial the stat, the more likely that there may be "passwords" to change the "ability to change" certain items.

What's done sometimes in commercial establishments is to arttificailly raise the reported temperature or to just put a dummy stat stat does nothing.

Control the boiler with a indoor outdoor control. This will save $$$$ on fuel bill.

Then install a preset sensor in the hallway behind a lock cover.

Leave old thermostat on wall and let the tenant play with it. LOL

:) :)you could also move the tstat up closer to the ceiling,, as heat rises it wouldn`t run as much,, this also is to put it up so as the kids can`t reach it, :)

Install a 75 degree thermistor it's a two wire hook up if the temp gets below 75 it kicks on the heat if the temp is abouve no heat is running. Check the laws in your state first if it's a rented space the laws may not let you decide what temps your tenant will live with.

WOW T-Top you are generous with the heat. I keep the 12 family steam boiler at 65 degrees stat set after 6PM. During the day it is on a indoor outdoor ratio control.
