Breast milk secretion after 22 years
I noticed a few drops of breast milk from my right breast when I squeezed the nipple. I haven't breast fed or been pregnant for 22 years and I am not pregnant now. I'm a 45 year old woman. Should I be concerned?

Probably not... it is most likely just due to an increase in the hormone prolactin. Many women will be able to express a few drops years later. Your doctor may decide to do some testing for hormone levels to see if there is anything that may need to be addressed, but it is pretty common.

I also want to ask if you do your monthly self breast exams. If so, have you noted any changes?

As Doula said, it is most likely due to a rise in prolactin, but I like to cover all bases.

I know there are many years difference here, but my sister who's youngest child is 5, can still lactate about an ounce out of each breast, and her youngest child she never nursed even once.
I wouldn't be too concerned about it, unless you've had changes in yourself exams as stated above, or the color of the milk changes.
