    Different titles
    I would like to know the difference between a general title warranty and a limited title waranty.

    A title warranty means that the giver warrants the title is clear of encumbrances. That warrant might be limited by certain factors.

    It would help if you explained the context.

    A general warranty means that the seller is warranting that the title is clear of anything and everything. A limited warranty means that the seller is warranting that the title is clear of limited things, such as saying that there are no mortgages on the property. However in that case the seller is not warranting that the title is clear of other things such as other liens or judgments.

    If you are the buyer, get a title insurance policy. Then it doesn't matter what the seller warrants. The title insurance policy should protect you.
