    I feel I was slandered
    I was recently passed over for an assignment at my job due to what I was told were a variety of allegations regarding my character. I have already disputed the allegations and proved them all to be false. However, my job will not help me clear my name and I am tired of asking and waiting for them to help me. This was a significant career enhancing assignment that I was accepted into and then put out of after someone at my job contacted the person(s) in charge of the assignment. The OIC in charge of the assignment also refuses to tell me who the person was who made these allegations against me. Why don't I have the right to be confronted by my accuser?

    So they just took the allegations for truth, disqualified you and moved on ? If someone made allegations against you. If as you say you have already proved those allegations against your character as false, then I think you should move on and forget the person who made these allegations. It will do you no good at all to pursue it. Did you eventually get your posting back ?

    Because this is not a court of law. This is a private company who can operate under their own rules.

    However, you may have a cause of action against your employer since you were accepted for the program and then removed from it. Had you not been accepted in the first place you would be out of luck

    You might also be able to sue your employer to reveal the name of the person who made the accusations and then sue that person. That might be tough because an employer as the right to protect whistleblowers. But since you proved all the allegations were false, you might prevail there.

    The caveat here, is if you sue your employers, you may find it uncomfortable to continue working there.

    Yes, they just took the allegations and threw me out of the program. Why do you think it will do me no good to pursue this?

    What happened after you proved them wrong ?

    Pursuing the issue will be like banging your head against a brick wall and will do you more harm then good. More bad feelings will come out possibly not detrimental to the profile someone has already outlined for you. If it were me I would let sleeping dogs lie.

    I would love to sue my job and the person who got me kicked out of the program. Why do you call this person a whistleblower... none of the things were true? What type of lawyer am I looking for to discuss this case... I feel really, really, uncomfortable working there now that I know, someone is trying to destroy my career! I'm mad as hell! I want to fight this and beat the pants off the person who did this to me!

    I call him a whistleblower because, whether the allegations are true or not, they were reporting something they felt was harmful.

    I would be looking for a lawyer familiar with employment law.
