How to repair a Shower/Bath diverter switch?
I saw one thread answering the question but still not quite sure.
When I turn on the tap the water comes out from both handheld shower and the bath tap. The switch seems to be slightly losen.

I have uploaded a couple of pics of my faucet and the diverter switch. Which equipment should I use and how can I repair it myself?

Please help since I don't want to call out a plumber unless I really need it. It costs me 120 pounds (british) last time just to repair something like 10 min.

Can you give us a brand name of the faucet? A model number would be nice. The picture of the diverter wasn't too clear. Can you give us another shot? Regards, Tom

I can't find the brand or model no. for this faucet. I bought it 6 years ago. But I tried to take some more shots. Hope they are better. Thanks.

I think the switch needs to be turn and slightly pull at the same time in order to divert the water. It is a very bad design because people find it difficult to use and they keep breaking it.

It should have a brand name somewhere on the valve. We can't do much until we can pull up information and we can't pull up information without a name. Sorry, Tom

We're got the same problem. It's an Ideal Standard Academy bath/shower mixer tap. The diverter set costs nearly £100 and the whole tap can be replaced for about £200! So before I spend a small fortune, is there a way to get into the diverter, and if so, what special tool do I need as the fitting is tool slim for the adjustable spanner and none of our fixed spanners fit! The part number for the diverter is E960190AA.

Contacted Ideal standard technical team and they suggested that the way to replace the diverter is to knock the pin out (see small whole in pictures above). I plan to try this tonight. Fingers crossed as mine is now stuck fast. I am hoping to be able clean it out rather than having to buy a new diverter.
