    Transmission just replaced-car won't start
I just had my transmission replaced in a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner and it seemed to be running fine. When I got in it after work it would not start. It didn't turn over or anything. I kept trying and it did finally start and I drove it home with no problem. When I got home I turned it off and tried to start it again and nothing. The lights won't even come on when you just half turn the key. This is just one of many problems I have had with this car. The starter has been replaced. The battery is new. It has around 140,000 miles. Any ideas of what it might be? Thanks.

    Hi,
Not sure if this will help or not, but my bet would be something having to do with the Neutral Safety Switch connection (since your transmission was just replaced). That or it's an amazing coincidence and something else has gone bad.

Neutral Safety Switch makes sure the car is in Park or Neutral before turning the engine over. That's assuming it's an automatic. If it's a manual tranny, there is usually a clutch safety switch.

Anyway that's just a thought... these better experts here will certainly have more info. Good luck!
