I realize that sounds a little bit creepy, but her parents did want her to date at that time, but the feelings were reciprocated. Long story short she broke my heart blah blah blah you all know the same tired story. What my question is however, is I know I was in love with her or what I thought was love, and I am starting to realize that even though she made my last year of high school hell, and made me lose my best friend I still have these feelings for her. I haven't talked to her in almost two years, and I don't know where happened to her because I didn't want to know. Is the reason I still have these feelings for her, whatever they are, is because I have never felt those kind of feelings since her. Will I finally forget about her when I feel that way about someone else or what? Or am I just crazy? Please if you have been in love I would appreciate your opinion/advice.

In my experience, true love is something that doesn't really ever go away.

You can love someone, break up with them and still love them after you've broken up. Simply because you love them, however, doesn't mean that you need to be in a relationship with them. In some ways, I still love with my girlfriend who I broke up with almost a year ago. I look back on the time I spent with her quite fondly but we both know that it's in both of our best interests to not be in a relationship together.

Also, I've come to realize that each time you fall in love, it's a little bit different. The emotions are not quite the same each time you do and that's part of what makes each relationship unique. I personally don't believe loving another replaces the love that you had for previous partners because each time you love it's different. You can forget almost all the details about a person but the feelings are always something you'll remember.

Well it might lessen the feelings to look at the FACTS. She ruined your last year of school. She ruined a relationship with a friend. How many other countless things happened?

I know it's hard as I am in a similair situation but you just have to keep moving! Something better WILL come along eventually. Sometimes I don't even believe it but I know it will because I've gotten over the fact that I'm just another bleep on the radar and if this is the case for 99% of males chances are we will find someone else, who you can truly love.

2 years seems like it should be enough time to let someone go. This tells me your still looking back and focusing on the past instead of looking to the future. Keep your head turned to long and you might miss just what you need.
