    What are the ramifications of a judgement for an outstanding debt?
    I am a Florida senior citizen being threatened with a judgement for an overdue credit card debt. Can my bank account to which my social security check is sent to by direct deposit and my home be taken from me?

    Hello e:

    SS can't be garnished, but once it's in your account, it's just plain old money to them, and they'll surly take it. If you can, get your check physically MAILED to you.

    Your home?? Nahhh. Credit card debt is UNSECURED. Therefore, they can't put a lien on your house...
