I have a 7 y/o dog who went through the same thing and I fixed it by crating him EVERY time I left the house for any reason. First you have to clean your house in ALL of the areas he has "gone" with Natures Miracle. He is more likely to go in places that he has gone before because it smells like his fecies and or urine. Second let him out right before you have to put him in his crate. Dogs are less likely to ust their bed area as a restroom. Aslong as it's the correct size. They should be able to stand comfortably and turn around with little difficulty. The larger the cage the more likely they are to go in it, so make sure it is the correct size. Then when you get home let him straight outside. Do this for about 2 months then test him. If he dosen't "go" then cut back on his time in the crate. Good luck
Oh has anything changed in your house that may have caused this? Like a new pet or more traffic in and out. Something may have stressed him out. My dog did it because we had moved... and we are about to move again so I'll have to do it over again :(
