    Heating unit not turning on
This past winter we had some issues with both our inside and outside units. We had a guy some out and he said that the motor on our outside unit was shot, but instead of replacing it he said that we needed an whole new unit, and readily quoted us a price of 4800.00. Long story short we told him we'd think about it and asked if he could get the heat working. He said that the fuses kept on blowing and bypassed the motor. The heat ran off the heat strips last winter for about a month. This summer we didn't run the unit at all since the compressor was not working, and we bought a window unit. This morning I went to turn the heat on and nothing happened. Any ideas where to begin. Thanks.

Yes call a qualified on site HVAC repair person to find your problem. If you want you can take a meter and check the fuses again but there is no simple cure for your problem. Sorry
