    resolution problems
Hey, I'm new to this so hopefully I'm doing this right, but about my problemssss :P
I just installed the service pack 3 on my computer (windows xp) and all the sudden the resolution gets really messed up and its at like 4bit color and 640x480. :( I tooksome screenshots to show what I mean hopefully it will help fix my problems. Oh, and I've tried uninstalling the service pack 3, it did the same when I installed service pack 2, but then if I uninstall I get more problems and my desktop doesn't show up, the explorer.exe in task manager can't start up I guess :(. Here's the screen shots though.

Start, settings, control panel, system icon, hardware tab and device mgr

Click + next to display adapters, what is listed there?

Are there any yellow marks present?

How do you resolve the drivers with a yellow question mark next to the device name?

Most times, "depending on what driver it is" - You can right click on the driver with mark and then choose uninstall and say OK

Now close all open windows and then shutdown and restart

On restart, windows will find device and attempt to load a generic driver that will work in/with windows

Check device mgr when back in windows to make sure or check device

This will work for general devices, most times. Such as video, modem, sound, display, some usb devices - Again depending on situation.
