Spyware Doctor didn't load properly and now my PC is frozen!
I tried to load spyware dr on to my PC, but my computer froze while loading. I rebooted, and now spyware dr loads on startup. It never actually opened or ran, but it has taken over my computer! I can get to task manager and stop it, which takes about an hour, but then my PC freezes up so I can't remove the program! HELP!!

First try a simple System Restore:
    1. Click on Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
    2. Click on Restore my computer to an earlier time
    3. Click Next
    4. Select a date from the calendar that is dark blue...go back a month or two prior to the problem
    5. Click Next
    6. Let the system do its thing...and it will reboot.

If the system comes back up cleanly, immediately go to the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and try to uninstall that program.

    Report back here.

Ok, it went as far as selecting the date and hitting next, but it hasn't done anything. Not really frozen, just in limbo for about an hour.

Start, run and type msconfig and hit enter

Go to the startup tab and uncheck anything relating to spyware dr and then click apply - let system restart

On restart, spyware dr should not load and you should be able to uninstall it from there

Yep, that's normal. Report back when it finally comes up. Then follow Seahawk's suggestion to disable anything regarding Spyware Dr in your msconfig tool.

Nothing happened. No tabs. I got an hourglass like it was thinking for about 4 seconds and it just sits. It's not thinking, it's not doing anything.

Yea, I think I have to take it in to be fixed, it won't run in safe mode, I get the dreaded blue screen when I try to run safe mode.

You should do repair installation - this is what they would do first

    Repair Installation
A Repair Install will replace the system files with the files on the XP CD used for the Repair Install. It will leave your applications and settings intact, but Windows updates will need to be reapplied.
